Review of readings

Zambo writes about boys and how they need help with literacy. The article suggests ten archetypes which are a collection of attributes that a boy can relate to. One student, Robert was worked with a teacher who would aspire to be a king. Another, David was taught to aquire the attributes of a warrior. The criteria are specific to the archtype and is not what someone who hears the term would think of exactly.
Renold Tayor did a study that compared Black students and White students of the same age to a concept of Sounding. The Black student would play the game by stating something about the other person, which was untrue. When the White student would do this, it was look upon as if they were fighting. So, when when the principal would punish the Black student, it would not make too much sense.
